The Siam Repertory Theatre Company (SRTC) is dedicated to reviving and reimagining Thailand’s rich dramatic heritage for contemporary audiences.
Founded by Paul Ewing, SRTC brings together theatre artists from Thailand and the United Kingdom to create productions that honour the past while embracing the future. Our work is driven by a belief that great theatre can connect cultures, generations, and communities through powerful storytelling.
At the heart of our mission is the rediscovery of a remarkable but largely forgotten national treasure: the English-language plays of His Majesty King Rama VI. Written during the King’s years in Britain, these witty, intelligent, and highly theatrical works represent a unique chapter in both Thai and international cultural history, yet many have remained unperformed for more than a century.
Through new adaptations, performances, artist development, and international collaboration, SRTC is bringing this extraordinary body of work back to life, introducing it to new audiences in Thailand and beyond, and helping secure its place within the wider global theatrical repertoire.
By activating this overlooked dramatic legacy, SRTC seeks not only to preserve an important part of Thailand’s cultural history but also to inspire a new generation of artists, audiences, and cultural exchange.
Meet Our Founder
Dr. Paul Ewing

Dr. Paul Ewing began his career as a child actor before becoming a UK household name as a BBC presenter, hosting over 250 episodes of Tikkabilla, Words and Pictures, and Watch.
A respected stage performer with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Young Vic, and Riding Lights Theatre, he made history as the first Black actor to play the title role in Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus. As a producer, he brought Dracula from Southeast Asia to ten UK No.1 theatres in partnership with the Touring Consortium and served as associate producer for The Man in the White Suit in the West End.
Deeply embedded in the Thai arts community, he composed "Love Eternally" for King Rama IX’s 85th birthday and has collaborated with artists including Hugo and Da Endorphine. He founded the Siam Repertory Theatre Company (SRTC) to bring international exposure to the English-language plays of King Rama VI. In 2022, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in the Arts by Queen Margaret University for his contributions to the arts world.
